Britney Spears has filmed a promo for the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards with host Russell Brand and a huge elephant.

On Tuesday (August 5) they shot the promo at the Paramount Studios in Hollywood, CA where the awards will take place.

A source told Marc Malkin that the promo is “mostly ad-libbed, with Russell asking her for advice about hosting the show. There’s also a 9,000-pound elephant in it, as in ‘the elephant in the room.’”

Reps for MTV wouldn’t comment on the possibility of Spears either presenting an award or performing at the show.
