Alicia Keys was on hand to celebrate The Secret Life Of Bees premiere at the Toronto Film Festival at the Roy Thomson Hall on Friday (September 5) in Toronto, Canada.
The movie is set in South Carolina in 1964, the film is the moving tale of Lily Owens (Dakota Fanning) a 14 year-old girl who is haunted by the memory of her late mother. To escape her lonely life and troubled relationship with her father, Lily flees with Rosaleen (Jennifer Hudson), her caregiver and only friend, to a South Carolina town that holds the secret to her mother’s past. Taken in by the intelligent and independent Boatwright sisters (Keys, Queen Latifah, Sophie Okonedo), Lily finds solace in their mesmerizing world of beekeeping, honey and the Black Madonna.
Alicia Keys and White Stripes frontman Jack White are set to perform on UK talent show The X Factor as part of a special Bond themed show.
They have agreed to perform their new duet “Another Way To Die”, which is the new Bond song for the upcoming 007 movie “Quantum of Solace”, in theaters this November.
The White Strips front-man Jack White has spoke about his collaboration with Alicia Keys for the upcoming James Bond: Quantum Of Solace movie.
White says that he has been wanting to work with Keys for a long time but she has always had other commitments, he says “After a couple of years of wanting to collaborate with Alicia Keys, it took James Bond himself to finally make it happen.”
On the No One singer he said, “Alicia put some electric energy into her breath that cemented itself into the magnetic tape. Very inspiring to watch.”
He says that the collaboration “gave me a new voice, and I wasn’t myself anymore. I drummed for her voice and she mimicked the guitar tones, then we joined our voices and screamed and moaned about these characters in the film and their isolation, having no one to trust, not even themselves. Maybe we became them for a few minutes.”
He finished off saying they “wanted to push soul into those tapes, and join the family of Barry, Bassey, Connery and Craig.”
Quantum Of Solace hits theaters in November.
Alicia Keys has given an interview to OK! Magazine, the No One singer talks about her $25 million deal with Vitamin Water and of course the charity she represents, Keep A Child Alive.
On Vitamin Water: I don’t partner with anybody, but this really was natural for me because I’ve been a fan from the beginning. I love their personality. Have you ever read the bottles? Don’t you just feel naturally smarter when you read it?
On eating before performing: One time I ate right before going on stage and I had to hide my belches from the microphone - that was funny!
On charity work: There are so many stories to tell and so many things going on in the world, and when you’re able to see it first-hand, I think it gives you a more empathetic feeling about it. I felt like I want to dell everybody I could about what I’d seen and the way we could erase it and prevent it.
It has been reported that Amy Winehouse, Beyonce and Leona Lewis would get the theme song for the upcoming 22nd James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace.
Well now it has officially gone to Alicia Keys and Jack White (from the White Stripes), producers for the movie have confirmed the song, which is called Another Way To Die.
White wrote and produced the song that he will play the drums on, the song makes Bond history as it is the first duet out of all the Bond soundtracks.
Quantum of Solace stars Daniel Craig and is directed by Marc Forster, will be released in theaters on November 7 while the soundtrack comes out October 28.
