Zac Efron and Jessica Alba aren’t the only young stars signing on to new projects because Mamma Mia! actress Amanda Seyfried has just signed on to a new movie called Dear John, which already has Channing Tatum signed on to play the lead male.

Dear John is based on the novel from Nicholas Sparks and is about “a young woman falls on love with a solider while he’s on leave. ”

According to Variety shooting will begin on October 13 in South Carolina, the movie is set for a 2009 release.

Bad news ladies, Channing Tatum has announced he is going to get married after recently announcing he got engaged to now fiancée Jenna Dewan.

The 28-year-old actor met 27-year-old Dewan on the set of their movie Step Up, according to People he asked her to marry him while on vacation in Maui, Hawaii in front of their close friend.

Speaking about Dewan, he says “she’s so incredibly sweet.”
