Jessica Alba is looking very Hannibal Lecter in the latest Declare Yourself ad campaign to get young people to register and vote.
Declare Yourself’s executive directer Marc Morgenstern said, “these images, while incredibly unsettling, are extremely compelling to today’s young adults, with less than 40 days left until the national election, we deliberately chose vivid and startling imagery to break through and underscore the grave consequences of not voting and in effect muzzling oneself.”
Alba sai, “if you don’t register and vote and make a difference, and hopefully change the bad things that are happening in our country, you are essentially just binding and muzzling yourself.”

Here is a new Declare Yourself ad, featuring a bondage clad Jessica Alba.
In a statement Alba says, “I think it is important for young people to be aware of the need we have in this country to get them more active politically, people respond to things that are shocking.”
She goes on to say, “if you don’t register and vote and make a difference, and hopefully change the bad things that are happening in our country, you are essentially just binding and muzzling yourself.”
Famed photographer Marc Liddel shot the campaign.

Jessica Alba attends the Narcisco Rodriguez show at New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2009, held at 547 West 26th Street in New York City.
The new mom was quick to put a smile on her face as photographers fought to get a show of her post pregnancy body.
Alba sat beside Claire Danes and Julianna Marguiles at the show.
Marguiles who is friends with Rodriguez said, “he makes clothes the way he lives: simple and elegant. And they always fit perfectly, he last time I came to this show, I was five-and-a-half-months pregnant, and they still fit perfectly. When I got married, I was seven-and-a-half-months pregnant, and they still fit perfectly. He just knows what to do.”

New mom Jessica Alba will be heading back to work as she has signed onto a new called An Invisible Sign of My Own.
In the movie Alba will play “a young woman who has retreated into the world and is consumed by number and math, she then lands a gig as a second-grade math teacher.”
This will be the first movie Alba has signed on for since giving birth to her daughter Honor Warren three months ago.
An Invisible Sign of My Own is based on the book by Aimee Bender. Ugly Betty actress America Ferrera was originally set to play the role.

Jessica Alba works it in the October 2008 edition of Czech Esquire. The actress has just blogged on her myspace page, she says:
“I wanted to check in to tell you about a trip I took recently to Denver for the Democratic National Convention. In two words: eye-opening. You see, traditionally I haven’t been that politically active but for a variety of reasons I find myself being compelled to participate in this years election. Irrespective of your political affiliation you have to acknowledge the historical relevance of this years race…on both sides. A few months ago I was asked to participate in an online viral video for Barack Obama and I jumped at the opportunity.
More recently, I have become a spokesperson for Declare Yourself. It is a bi-partisan group that not only helps educate you on the political process but also makes registering to vote incredibly easy. This group is particularly meaningful to me because it is purely about people being active. At the end of the day I want what’s best for this country and an active youth ensures a brighter future. Keep your eyes open for the new campaign. Go to declareyourself.org for more information.
At the DNC, Cash and I were fortunate enough to see President Clinton speak as well as Biden and Obama. I have been blessed to witness almost every sports and entertainment event but nothing compares to what took place on Invesco Field. The energy was palpable and the crowd was infused with the hope. On a more humorous side, I have never seen the stars and stripes used as a fashion print/accessory so liberally. Some makeover reality show producer needs to hop on a plane for Minneapolis asap because I am sure the outfits at the RNC will be just as patriotic or as Christian would say “fierce.” Lol!”
