Katy Perry has been announced the host for the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards, which are taking place on November 6 in Liverpool, England.
Along with presenting, the I Kisesd A Girl singer is nominated for two awards.
Richard Godfrey, executive producer of the event, said that they wanted the presenter to be “much more informal and relaxed” so they thought she would be perfect and bring a “musical twist”
When asked about presenting she, Perry said it was “an incredible honor. Do they know what they’re getting themselves into? I just hope that I don’t spill my cocktail!”
Past presenters include Christina Aguilera and Snoop Dogg.
Katy Perry is not a fan of Lauren Conrad or her fellow Hills stars.
Blender Magazine (via PageSix) asked the I Kissed A Girl singer if she related to Conrad and Heidi Montag, to which she replied “hellz to the fu*k no.”
She added “there’s no comparison. No offense, but those ladies are a totally different breed. A cheeseburger’s fine if you’re just looking for something quick to fill you up, but there’s no substitute for the filet.”
Russell Brand has spoken to The Sun about filming kissing scenes with Katy Perry and Pink for the sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
The comedian who, will reprise his role as Aldous Snow in the movie titled Get Him To The Greek, said that its Christina Aguilera that he was most excited to shoot scenes with.
He says “Christina was amazing. She is unbelievable - a perfect object. How could you ever talk to her about anything other than sex? In the scene with Pink and Katy Perry I had to do kissing. I got to snog them both in a day.”
Continung on he said “Katy Perry is lovely. She is the kind of girl who would skip downstairs lightly. Pink is a lovely woman - a forceful, sexy woman. With both of them I didn’t act, the acting stopped.”
PageSix reports that Katy Perry was overheard complaining that she “wasn’t asked to open at the VMAs because her song [’I Kissed a Girl’] is too provocative,” while eating at Marx Mexican in Los Angeles, CA.
A rep for the singer said Perry was overheard “incorrectly” and confirmed she is performing at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 7), although it won’t be the opening act.
The singer is nominated for a handful of awards for her song I Kissed A Girl, including Best New Artist, Best Art Direction in a Video, Best Editing in a Video, Best Cinematography in a Video and Best Slut Video.
