Kristen Bell has signed on to give her voice to the new CG-animated movie, Astro Boy.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall actress joins a cast of Nicolas Cage, Scarlett Johansson, Donald Sutherland, Bill Nighy, Nathan Lane, Eugene Levy and Freddie Highmore .
Astro Boy is about a powerful robot boy created by a brilliant scientist in the image of the son he has lost. Our hero journeys to find acceptance in the human world, and ultimately discovers true friendship as he uses his incredible powers to help others and save Metro City from destruction.
The movie is set for a 2009 release date.

Kristen Bell is in the September 2008 issue of France’s Maxim magazine, while the shots are the exact same issue from the American issue of the magazine, we just felt like posting them.
Like we already said, the Forgetting Sarah Marshall could soon be starring in a big-screen movie of Veronica Mars if she and creator of the series, Rob Thomas, get it to work it out.
Michael Ausiello from EW.com claims that there could be a Veronica Mars movie in the works, if you don’t know Veronica Mars then you should check it out.
Apparently the creator of the show Rob Thomas had a meeting with Kristen Bell to talk about bringing the show to the big screen. Thomas said they bumped into each other and had “a few conversations.”
As for the project Thomas says, “It’s very tough to focus on it right now with two pilots on my plate, but as soon as I have any free time, that’s my top priority.”
Bell who starred in the TV show said it’s a “major compliment [that] fans still ask me all the time if the show’s coming back. Emotionally, I don’t want to think about Veronica Mars every day because it really does make me sad.”
As for the movie Bell says, “we’ll see.”
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard were photographed giving a beach side show while out at the beach in Malibu, CA on Sunday (August 17).
The couple were spotted playing around while Dax put lotion over his girlfriend and then they spent time putting on a kissing show.
You can see Bell and Shepard on the big screen next year when the appear together in the new movie, When In Rome, which is about a young art curator finding herself aggressively pursued by a band of wannabe lovers after she steals coins from a Roman fountain.
Transformers hottie Josh Duhamel also stars in the movie with Will Arnett, Jon Heder and Danny DeVito.

Kristen Bell attended the 2008 Teen Choice Awards at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA on Sunday (August 3).
The former Veronica Mars actress is nominated for Breakout Female and Comedy Actress both for her work in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, she goes up against costar Mila Kunis also nominated for Breakout Female in the movie which sees nominations for Bromantic Comedy and Jason Segel is nominated for Breakout Male.
The awards show airs Monday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
