
Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon were all smiles as they attended the premiere of her new movie, Tennessee, at the Urband World Film Festival on Friday (September 12) in New York City.
Meanwhile Vivendi Entertainment have acquired the domestic rights to the movie which is set is set for a release in December.
Tennessee is about two brothers, Carter (Adam Rothenberg) and Ellis (Ethan Peck), embark on a journey from New Mexico to find their estranged father in the hopes of saving Ellis, who has been diagnosed with terminal leukemia. Along the way they meet Krystal (Carey), an aspiring singer who joins them on their journey.

Mariah Carey is doing all she can to stop her former record producer, Damion “Damizza” Young, from writing about her ni his upcoming book Guilty by Association.
Young says he will give details about their “intense four-year personal relationship they shared and worked diligently to disguise from the world’s press.”
But according to PageSix, the singer’s lawyer Sonya Guardo sent him a letter reminding him he signed a confidentiality agreement saying he could not talk about Mariah in his book.

Mariah Carey has dropped big name Benny Medina as her manager, so she can represent herself.
The pair have worked together for over five years and they both say they will continue to work with each other, with his company, Medina’s Handprint Entertainment, developing content for her while her own company, Maroon Entertainment, will manage her career.
In a statement to E! she says, “Press Reports have not been accurate, Benny Medina and I will continue to work together on projects both present and in the future. I’m looking forward to working with Benny on what we have been developing, and to his continued involvement in my creative life.”
Medina himself says, “Being as involved as I have been over the last five years, I am reminded how great teamwork leads to great success. This affords me the opportunity to work on some great projects with Mariah, including the upcoming tour, an HBO Christmas movie and a variety music show for CBS, as well as to pursue some of my other [productional] interests.”

Mariay Carey said she is no sure that new husband Nick Cannon is her soulmate, because he reminds her of her mother, Patricia .
The 38-year-old singer tells Fashion Rocks magazine that like her mother, Nick can make any situation a good one with his upbeat attitude.
She says,“when I was a kid there was an ice storm in the suburbs… We went to Manhattan to stay with a friend of my mom’s. There was nobody on the road. It was this moment that could’ve been scary for a kid, but she made it festive. That’s what Nick is like. He takes the hard part of a situation and makes it celebratory.”
Last month we reported that Britney Spears could be back performing at the MTV 2008 Video Music Awards which are being held in Los Angeles, CA on September 7.
Well now the chance of seeing Britney back at the VMA’s has gotten even better, Britney has been named in a long list of nominations for Best Female Video for her song and video Piece Of Me. The final list of nominations will be released on Friday, July 25.
Another artist in the full list of nominations is Mariah Carey for her song and video Touch My Body. Mariah who has never won an award at the American VMA’s recently said, “I don’t own a Moonman from this country, isn’t that an abusive situation? I have faith in my fans, I believe they will come through for me, because they always have.”
The Touch My Body singer who has only performed at the awards show finished by saying, “I haven’t really gone, I’ve only performed, I will make it this year.”

Mariah Carey posed for photographs at the MTV Studios in New York City on Tuesday afternoon (July 22). The singer who was there for a taping was dressed in a short blue top showing off her stomach and a multi colored skirt.
Mariah has just been announced to perform at the 5th annual Fashion Rocks concert that will be held on September 5th and air in a two hour special on CBS on September 6th. All procedes from the event will go to Stand Up to Cancer which was created by the Entertainment Industry Foundation to raise money for cancer research.
Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, Rihanna, Keith Urban, Chris Brown, Kid Rock and Lil Wayne will also perform.
Richard Beckman who is the president of Conde Nast Media Group, which produces the event, said “Fashion Rocks uniquely celebrates the intersection of two of the most sexy cultural paradigms: fashion and music. This year, we have a spectacular lineup of talent and performances that will take the show to a whole new level,”
