Melanie Chisholm (aka Sporty Spice) is getting ready to marry her longtime boyfriend, Thomas Starr.

The couple have been together for over six years are are currently expecting their first child together around March 2009, making Chisholm the last Spice Girl to have a baby.

According to the Daily Mirror, the couple are set to marry after the baby is born.

The Spice Girls have beaten legend rockstars Led Zeppelin to take the award for Best Reunion at the 2008 Vodafone Muisic Awards Thursday (September 18), at the Carling Academy Brixton in London, England.

Emma Bunton, who was the only member of the group to show up, said that she was “a bit shocked” to win the award.

Speaking on the tour she said “we had a great time. So I just feel very lucky that I had the opportunity to do it again. The thing is, when you go to a gig, you go for fun and entertainment and a night out, that’s exactly what we did and I think that’s why people enjoyed it so much.”

The couple who have been together for over six years are said to be ecstatic to be having a baby, a source said “Melanie is over the moon at the prospect of becoming a mum for the first time.”

Melanie confirmed the pregnancy on her official site saying “Some happy news, I can now announce that Tom and I are expecting a baby and we are very happy.”

Melanie recently said she would like to have children and being around the rest of the Spice Girl’s children made her feel maternal.
