Last weeks number one movie Lakeview Terrace was bumped down to number 3, taking in $7 million, which brought the total up to $25.7 million.

Rachel McAdams has just signed on to the cast of Guy Ritchie’s upcoming movie, Sherlock Holmes, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
According to the Reporter, the movie takes its cue from a forthcoming comic book that producer Lionel Wigram wrote as a selling tool for a new take on the classic character. The concept sees Holmes as more adventurous and less stuffy than previous screen incarnations and mines more obscure character traits.
McAdams will play Holme’s love interest, Irene Adler, a character that only appeared in one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s books, but if there is any sequels she will return.
Robert Downey Jr. will play Holmes, Jude Law will play his assistant Watson and Mark Strong will play Blackwood, the main villain.

This was the first meeting for Pitt and his fellow cast members in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino directed movie, Inglorious Bastards.
