
Katherine Heigl is set to star in a new action-comedy called Drawn Together according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie is only described as an electronics designer who meets the woman of his dreams, only to find out that she’s not who she seems to be.
Keith Merryman and David A. Newman will pen the movie, on the choice for the writers the executive producer said “we met a lot of writers, and these were the ones who came in with a fully written-out story and captured a great character for Katherine to play. We loved the character they created, we loved the sense of humor and loved the action set pieces they brought with the pitch.”
Heigl and her mother Nancy will produce the movie also,, using their company Abishag.

Zac Efron and Jessica Alba aren’t the only young stars signing on to new projects because Mamma Mia! actress Amanda Seyfried has just signed on to a new movie called Dear John, which already has Channing Tatum signed on to play the lead male.
Dear John is based on the novel from Nicholas Sparks and is about “a young woman falls on love with a solider while he’s on leave. ”
According to Variety shooting will begin on October 13 in South Carolina, the movie is set for a 2009 release.

If you are a Zac Efron fan and live in England well then you could soon be very happy because the young High School Musical actor is being lined up to play the role of Joseph in the play of the same name.
The Mirror report that Efron got in touch with Andrew Lloyd Webber when he found out that the current Joseph, Lee Mead, will be leaving the play in January 2009.
A source said “it is a marriage made in musical heaven. Zac loves the role and is keen to clock up some stage time in London. For Hollywood actors a spell in the West End offers credibility and can be extremely lucrative.”

New mom Jessica Alba will be heading back to work as she has signed onto a new called An Invisible Sign of My Own.
In the movie Alba will play “a young woman who has retreated into the world and is consumed by number and math, she then lands a gig as a second-grade math teacher.”
This will be the first movie Alba has signed on for since giving birth to her daughter Honor Warren three months ago.
An Invisible Sign of My Own is based on the book by Aimee Bender. Ugly Betty actress America Ferrera was originally set to play the role.

Thriller “Bangkok Dangerous,” starring Nicolas Cage opened at number 1 this weekend, but fell below expectations with just $7.8 million, making it the weakest box office opener in 5 years.
After three weeks at the top “Tropic Thunder” slipped to number 2 taking $7.5 million, while “The House Bunny” came in at number 3 with $5.9 million, taking it’s total to $37 million.

Tommy Lee Jones is suing Paramount Pictures and the makers of the 2007 movie No Country for Old Men for over $10 million.
In the lawsuit Jones claims that he was promised “significant box-office bonuses” and other compensation depending on the success of the film, the movie went on to make over $160 million.
The 61-year-old actor claims he he was not paid these bonuses and was paid a reduced upfront fee in joining the film, he also claims that known errors in his contract were never rectified.
Jones’ publicist Jennifer Allen wouldn’t comment, only saying “the paperwork stands for itself.”
