New Coldplay Album Next Year?

coldplay.jpg

The Sun claim that Coldplay are set to release a new album in 2009 even though their latest album Viva La Vida Or Death And all His Friends was just released in June.

On Thursday (August 20) it was reported that front man Chris Martin and producer Brian Eno along with the rest of the band had recorded enough songs for the basis of a new album.

A source said, “The Viva La Vida sessions were incredibly fruitful. They gelled brilliantly with Brian and recorded much more music than they could fit on one album. The majority of the follow-up is already in the can, though they will have to go back into the studio at some point to add a few more songs.”

Which means that if they release a new album and then a greatest hits, they would have completed their contract with record label EMI.

Last year EMI was taken over by a finance firm leaving bands such as Radiohead to walk away from the label.

A rep for EMI denied reports of a new album, telling NME, “Contrary to inaccurate reports in The Sun, Coldplay are signed to a long-term record deal with EMI and are committed to produce a number of albums. The band’s relationship with EMI is both long-term and positive.”

*NSYNC To Reunite?

nsync.jpg

*NSYNC singer Chris Kirkpatrick has sparked reports that the band could be getting back together for a reunion, following the footsteps of Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block.

The band who took a “temporary hiatus back in 2002 never got back together after Justin Timberlake’s solo career took off and launched him into solo success.

36-year old Kirkpatrick tells OK! Someday, there’ll be an ‘N Sync reunion, but I don’t think the time is right now. Maybe a few years down the road when we have gotten a chance to realise who we are as individuals, we’ll get back together as a group and put more music out. We get along like brothers. We all love each other - we all care about each other. I’m sure we’ll come back.”

The band sold over 56 million records when they were together for over seven years.

Kate Perry’s mother is disappointed

 katyperry.JPG

Katy Perry’s mother, Mary Hudson, has made her bad feelings known about her daughter’s hit song, I Kissed A Girl

Hudson who is an evangelical Christian preacher said the song is shameful and disgusting” and that she is disappointed in her daughter for promoting a sin“.

She said, “I hate the song. It clearly promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting. Katy knows how I feel. We are a very outspoken family and she knows how disappointed her father and I are. I can’t even listen to that song. The first time I heard it I was in total shock. When it comes on the radio I bow my head and pray.”

Adding that she isn’t happy about how fame has affected her daughter she says, “Katy is our daughter and we love her but we strongly disagree with how she is conducting herself at the moment. “We cannot cut her out of our lives as she is our child - but she knows we disagree strongly with what she is doing and the message she is promoting regarding homosexuality which the Bible clearly states is a sin.”

Meanwhile the song has been knocked off the top spot of the Billboard 100 by Rihanna’s Disturbia.
