U2are set to receive 1.56 shares of Live Nation, worth around $18 million as part of a 12 year contract, which they signed earlier this year. It will cover touring, merchandise and their website.
The deals value was revealed in a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission made last week.
U2 are planning to release their new album in 2009.
U2 frontman Bono (real name Paul David Hewson) has been blamed for the reason one of the groups new songs leaked onto YouTube.
While on vacation in the South Of France the singer was heard playing the new song when a fan walked by, recorded the song, when he got home he uploaded it to YouTube.
Meanwhile, The Sun report that the bands record label Universal Music Group have bought the doman name, No Line On The Horizon, suggesting the new album (which is the bands first in four years) will be called this.
Out of the songs that have leaked they are thought to be called Moment Of Surrender, For Your Love and Sexy Boots, which is the first single.
Producer for the band, Daniel Lanois said “I think we can safely say it’s one of the great, innovative records from U2. Bono’s in great form, singing fantastic.”
The new album is set for a November release.

On Friday (July 4) we posted photographs of Amy Winehouse performing at Rock In Rio music festival in Arganda del Rey in Madrid, Spain. Shakira also took to the stage on Friday, wearing all black the singer performed her set to thousands of fans.
In other news, Shakira, has signed a deal with Live Nation, a global concert promoting company, who also have U2, Madonna and Jay-Z signed to them.
The deal is reportedly worth anywhere between $70 and $100 million. Shakira still had a contract for two studio albums and a greatest hits collection with Sony BMG, a rep wouldn’t confirm or deny if that deal is still in tact.
