PageSix reports that Katy Perry was overheard complaining that she “wasn’t asked to open at the VMAs because her song [’I Kissed a Girl’] is too provocative,” while eating at Marx Mexican in Los Angeles, CA.
A rep for the singer said Perry was overheard “incorrectly” and confirmed she is performing at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 7), although it won’t be the opening act.
The singer is nominated for a handful of awards for her song I Kissed A Girl, including Best New Artist, Best Art Direction in a Video, Best Editing in a Video, Best Cinematography in a Video and Best Slut Video.

The anti-Scientology group Anonymous (click here to find out about them) are planning on protesting at the October 16 opening for Katie Holmes Broadway play, All My Sons.
The group says, “We aren’t looking to shut it down, we don’t have the power to do that, we just want to prove a point.”
They continued saying they want to save Holmes from Scientology, “we want to draw attention to Scientology, and hopefully get Katie out of it before it’s too late.”

Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor claims that Victoria Beckham slapped his band-mate Simon Le Bon in the face one time because he told her she was in on of his sex dreams.
In his new autobiography, Wild Boy: My Life In Duran Duran, Tayolor says “as we walked in, Geri Halliwell came rushing over to say hello. Hot on her heels was Victoria Beckham. Geri was very bubbly and I wanted to talk to her, but a stern-faced Posh pulled her away. It turned out that the last time they met, Simon had told Posh about a very vivid dream he’s had about her the night before. I presume that, at first, Posh was quite flattered - until Simon added that the dream had actually involved him peeking up her skirt while she was wearing no underwear. Victoria was horrified, especially as Simon used a very ungentlemanly word to describe a certain part of her anatomy, and she ended up giving him a good slap.”
Wild Boy: My Life In Duran Duran is released on Tuesday (September 9).

We hope your not expecting or hoping to see Jeremy Piven at this years Fashion Rocks on Friday (September 5) because he has been banned because of “diva behaviour.”
Page Six reports that when he hosted the event last year he was a “nightmare, insisting on a separate green room and rewriting the script up until the last minute. And it wasn’t even funny,”
Piven’s rep denies these claims though and says “not true. He had his own room, just like everyone else, and came in a week early to work on the script as expected.”
Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, The Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown and Rihanna are all set to perform at the event which airs on CBS on Tuesday (September 9).
Denis Leary will be presenting.

Sienna Miller and Balthazar Getty were photographed having a night out on Monday (September 1) in London, England.
Sadie Frost (Jude Law’s ex-wife, you may recall Sienna started dating Law after his divorce to Frost) has spoken out about the media and said Sienna is a nice person.
She says, “she’s a nice person. She’s young. She’s a free spirit. She has been really unfairly treated. Whatever she does in her personal life, that is between her and the other person. It isn’t for the media to persuade the public that she is a bad person.”
